Teo first stepped on a snowboard back in 1996 at the age of 6 , he had already been skateboarding for a year and a half . Growing up in Helsinki just 20 mins from his local resort he soon made a name for himself on the Finnish scene winning both snowboard and skateboard contests , being crowned Finnish skateboard champion in 2003 . No one really knew whether he was a snowboarder or a skateboarder first and foremost including Teo himself . These days he is fully focused on snowboarding , skateboarding just for fun . He atributes his skills to the short local hills just outside Helsinki where he could to endless circuits on the kickers day after day . Yet he is comfortable on any terrain be it rails , kickers or powder . Which he got a taste for over the last few winter spending a good stint of time in Austria . When asked if he found the transition easy he replied " yes , apart from landing switch ". Teo has a unique talent for spontanious invention , he lives very much in the moment which isn't alway ideal in everyday life reknowned for being a bit absent minded and losing everything on trips but lead to creative moments of genius on his snowboard . He's no Finnish kicker machine , training to learn new tricks . If he has an idea he'll go with it and think later . Recovering from an ankle injury at the moment at home he is getting ready for an exciting season of a few TTR contests and a lot of shredding in central Europe .
